About me
I am a national certified interpreter (Level II）and was trained in legal interpretation and translation. I have been working as an interpreter since 2016. I lived in Vancouver for 2 years and received my master's degree from SFU, during which period I worked part-time as a Chinese-English interpreter. In China, I provided my interpreting services to governments, schools, tourists and business people. I first met She Lyu in Zhaotong while on a Powell River School District audit trip in September of 2017. She Lyu (Gloria) was my interpreter for the days I was in Zhaotong. We were toured to schools, had lunches and dinners and met with town officials while on our visit. She Lyu was excellent. I was always kept informed of all that was happening and she was quick to translate all conversations. She Lyu (Gloria) was the best interpreter that I have ever had in China and I have been there 3 times in the last year. I can count 15-20 interpreters during those 3 trips.
She Lyu is a very bright young person. She has a Master’s degree from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver in International Studies and teaching second languages. She Lyu truly understands the culture of China and Canada/USA and this helps her tremendously when interpreting.
I would recommend She Lyu as an interpreter; in fact, she is definitely my first choice if I have business to do in China in the next few years.
