Internship and Work Experiences:

• Start of July to end of August 2013: Shanghai Oriental Green Land – Interpreter and Administrative Assistant

Job description: I was translator and interpreter of Shanghai volleyball team members (including Male Volleyball, Female Volleyball, Male Youth, Female Youth), translation work including daily warm-up, movement introduction, stretch, pep talk etc., and meetings with doctors (disease inquiry and explanation); Administrative assistant’s job included updating every day’s schedule, arranging team members’ appointment with doctors, arranging team members and doctors’ weekend trip. Through this experience, it made me have a deeper understanding of sports and some medical knowledge, day-to-day intensive translation and interpretation improved my skills; at the other hand, it helped me to improve my communication skills, and ability to solve issues.


• September 2013: China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair – Volunteer Translator

Job description: I was required to supply interpreting service at the stall, helping foreign companies to communicate with Chinese customers.

• November 2013: China International Fishery Fair – Volunteer Translator

Job description: I was required to supply interpreting services at the stall, helping foreign companies to communicate with Chinese customers.

• January 2014: Hong Kong Mock United Nations Assembly

Job Description: I attended this assembly as a Haitian representative, the topic of this Mock United Nation is ‘UN Millennium Development Goals’. The committee rewarded me Best Position Paper because of my outstanding conference preparations. The experience of attending Mock United Nations helped me with improving public speaking ability, confidence and leadership.

• September 2014: Japanese language interviewed IBM manager

• November 2015: WUSATA Exhibition Translator

Job description: I was required to supply interpreting services at the stall, helping foreign companies to communicate with Chinese customers.

• April – December 2016: China Interpreters and Translators Team – Reviser and Proof-Reader

Job description: China Interpreters and Translators Team is an organization that provides internet translation training for students who want to apply for MIT for their masters. I oversaw revising and proofreading translations from Chinese to English. This experience helped to summarize common mistakes and set a solid basis for my own translation studies.

• June 2016: Undergraduate dissertation topic was Translation Practice, elected as ‘outstanding essay’

• September 2016: ‘Why China Chose Rule of Law”

Job Description: Helping on a book published by CIPG, but haven’t been widely released yet. The deadline of the work was very tight, and published book required high quality translation

• October 2016: China Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Summit – Accompanying Interpreter

Job description: Before the conference, I oversaw talking with other countries’ government officers and help them to build context of this summit and then accompanied them until the summit was over.

• October 2016: Accompanied American customers to visit golf factories in Foshan, and discussed the matter of cooperation on ball arms.

• November 2016: Accompanied British customers to visit Foxconn in Shenzhen, to discuss to manufacture component of their smart headphones
